KrXe purification for air separation
Air separation plants are used for on-site gas supply at many industrial sites. These supply the metal industry, steel production, petrochemical industry, food industry, semiconductor industry, plastics production and many more with large quantities of nitrogen or oxygen. Once the various gases have been separated, they can be transported in liquid form to tanks for further use.
In a separate step, noble gases such as argon, krypton and xenon are extracted. The latter are particularly important for lamp production due to their use as inert gases. However, various impurities must first be removed.
Our gas purification unit shown here removes methane & nitrous oxide from krypton/xenon into oxygen at a capacity of max. 480 Nm³/h and 9 bar. CH4 with up to 3500 ppm and N2O with up to 80 ppm are removed down to < 1 ppmv!
