ReiCat for Power-to-X / the energy sector
ReiCat develops and manufactures systems for purifying technical gases used in the energy sector as fuel, storage medium, or means of production. Our innovative solutions, which we have been continuously developing for over 40 years, turn raw gas into high-purity gas of quality 5.0 / > 99.999 % or higher. A high degree of purity is a prerequisite for transportation, storage, and most applications of technical gases.
Our systems ensure maximum efficiency and reliability and thus meet the energy sector’s high requirements. Our proprietary HighFlex H₂® Technology guarantees consistent purification results with fluctuating volume flows for Power-to-X applications.

At ReiCat, we understand gas drying to mean the removal of moisture from a technical gas. By gas purification, we mean the removal of unwanted impurities from a technical gas. Those unwanted impurities may include moisture. Gas drying is therefore a sub-category of gas purification.
Yes. When a catalyst reaches the end of its life cycle, ReiCat takes it back, recycles it, and provides a new catalyst.
During recycling, the catalyst’s precious metal is separated from the carrier. The exact precious metal content is analyzed and certified. We will generally refund up to 97 % of the precious metal when taking back catalysts. We use the current world market price for this purpose.
The recycling and processing of precious metals makes economic sense and makes a decisive contribution to environmental protection.
Power-to-X (PtX) refers to processes that convert renewable electricity into other forms of energy. A typical application of PtX is the production of green hydrogen by electrolyzing water with electricity from photovoltaics and wind power. Green hydrogen leaves the electrolyzer with impurities, mainly oxygen and moisture. However, a gas of high purity (> 99.999 % or quality 5.0) is required for transportation, storage, and most applications. Therefore, ReiCat gas purification systems are essential to every PtX system.
Yes. Under certain conditions, ReiCat HighFlex H2® Technology can guarantee consistent purification performance with volume flow fluctuations of 5 % to 100 %.
ReiCat HighFlex H2® Technology guarantees a consistently high hydrogen quality 5.0 even with fluctuating volume flows between 10 % – 100 %. In some instances, volume flows < 10 % are possible. Commercially available gas purification systems without HighFlex H2® Technology are not designed for strong fluctuations in the volume flow and, therefore, cannot guarantee consistent purification performance.
The ReiCat Closed Loop Technology ensures that the gas is recirculated during drying and regeneration, resulting in minimal to no emissions and losses. To ensure continuous operation of the TSA system (Temperature Swing Adsorption), we use at least two adsorber vessels: one is loaded while the second is desorbed. Switching between the adsorbers is controlled depending on the operating time and the system conditions.
With over 40 years of experience in the development, production, and application of catalysts, we guarantee:
