We are pleased to announce that the next CO2 purification system from ReiCat is ready for delivery. Our system with a 3000 Nm³/h capacity purifies carbon dioxide using our proven KatOx process. The particularly energy-efficient purification unit is designed for smooth, fully automatic continuous operation to remove hydrocarbons.
The catalytic reactor converts the hydrocarbons into CO2 and moisture; a sulfur protection filter is installed upstream. The oxygen required for oxidation is added or adjusted downstream of this “police filter” depending on the quantity of hydrocarbons.
Two heat exchangers are connected in series. The gas is only heated to process temperature for the catalytic reaction if required. The exothermic oxidation of the hydrocarbon causes the outlet temperature to rise depending on the concentration. The resulting energy is used to heat the cold incoming gas by means of heat recovery. Normally, the amount of hydrocarbon is sufficient and the system runs after start-up without additional energy, i.e. autothermally.
In the present case, the impurities methane, ethane, propane and decane in particular are reduced.
Pre-assembled with dimensions of approx. 7.8 x 2.4 x 3.4 m, the system will be used for indoor installation in south-eastern Europe.
