Increase in electrolysis capacities

ReiCat: Hydrogen from electrolysis

The stricter climate targets make a faster switch to sustainable energy sources unavoidable. Research is in full swing to produce hydrogen where it is generated – where sufficient renewable energy is available for hydrogen electrolysis. However, hydrogen production in Germany can help to compensate for fluctuations in the generation of electricity from renewables.

The German government is planning to increase electrolysis capacities to up to 5 gigawatts. This corresponds to around 200 times the current volume in Germany.

The purification of hydrogen for power-to-gas applications is also one of our core competencies. The ReiCat solution offers safe production of high-purity gas, and our technology works optimally, especially with strongly fluctuating currents / volume flows. These systems operate in a closed cycle, without emissions and with low energy consumption, a long lifetime and a short amortization period. A gas purity of better than 99.999 % is achieved, optionally 6.0 quality.
