Argon recycling for silicon production – cost savings and sustainable environmental protection

While semiconductor production for solar cells undoubtedly makes up a large part of this industry, we encounter semiconductors everywhere throughout the day: As early as enjoying our first cup of coffee in the morning while listening to the news on the radio, even the way to work without numerous electronics in our cars is almost unimaginable. Whether as a SIM card in a smartphone or in the form of chip cards, semiconductors accompany us unconsciously throughout our everyday lives.
Large quantities of argon are required to produce silicon, the most important semiconductor material, which is often emitted into the atmosphere. Our argon recycling systems mean that more than 90 % of the argon is recovered. The systems are redundantly designed for continuous gas availability and offer a gas quality of better than 5.0 (> 99.999 %). Fully automatic operation with 24/7 remote data monitoring monitors the required gas quality. This results in direct savings in operating costs with very short amortization times – sustainable environmental protection made easy!
